Weekend Reflections:
Burn feeding Loch of Winless through Bilbster forest


Looking into the forest upstream along a minor burn towards its source the other side of Bilbster forest plantation in the north-west. The coarse of the burn has been straightened by forestry workers at this point.

Former Hotel by the Wick River

Variously known as the Wick New Hotel and the Wick Station Hotel, the building dates from the 1870s when the railway line was opened from Helmsdale. It is now a nursing home.
